Flower Observing
Flower is a beautiful thing given to human for enjoying by the nature. The national parks are the natural source of floras that make visitors very enjoyable when traveling there. There is an important thing visitors should know, that is, a flower has its own season to bloom for awhile, when visitors travel to that place out of its season, that visitors should miss the occasion and have to wait for the next season in the next year to come.
Season for Enjoying Flower
Flowers are different in blooming time from each other's. Each flower depends on the condition of its area to be bloomed, such as. Plants in deciduous forest will give flower in winter after its trees' leaves changed color and fell down. Plants in plains such as Krajiew (a type of Zingiberaceae) Curcuma aeruginosa Roxb, Caulokaempferia thailanddica etc will give their flower in early rainy season. And plants in sandy plains such as dusita, Utricularia bifida Linn, Eriocaulon henryanum Ruhle, Doritis pulcherrima etc will give their flower in late rainy season to early winter. That means the same flower in different area will not bloom at the same time.
Where to watch flower
At first, visitors have to make a decision on what forest they wanted to visit, and what national park has the type of specified forest, for examples. When wanted to see tropical flower, visitors should go to national park that consists of montane forest in Northern Thailand, such as, to see Dalavay's rhododendron, a tropical flower, in Doi Inthanon National Park. Some national park, such as Phu Kra Duang National Park, has flowers bloom all the year round because that area has many different types of its condition and forest. That means visitors can find flowers more in a park with different forests and conditions than in a one-condition park. Anyone interested should well study the information of the forest in the national parks before taking a trip.
Flower Observing Equipment
Flower lover, in general, may not use any equipment. However, when wanting to study flower closely, that person has to bring some tools as follows.
Magnifying Glass is to use for observing tiny flower and its inside (stamen and pistil).
Binocular is to use for observing far away flower especially orchid which likes to grow on the trees.
Pencil color, watercolor, candle color and whatever, are use for drawing picture of the flowers.
Camera is a way of recording beautiful natural flower.
Caution of flower watching
Please do not pluck flower for keeping it yourself. It is illegal. The flower has its important duty, that is, to produce its seed for maintaining its species. When visitors plucks it away, it means to cut its circle life of that plant. In addition, when traveling to the fields, visitors will find small flower growing in large cluster. Therefore, the visitors should take particular care in walking, and if traveling in a big group, visitors should walk in line, not separately walk to avoid unintended step over the flowers.
